About School Visits

Photo of Pablo at a school event
Pablo’s events, both virtual and in-person, center around discussion of the ideas he lives for: family, culture, and community. Pablo never uses PowerPoint or slides as he code-switches (moving from Spanish to English) and uses personal anecdotes to explain why he writes what he writes. Some kids have even called his presentations stand-up with heart.

In-person events include a number of 45-minute presentations (each with a Q&A), a book signing, and lunch with students, faculty, and staff. An evening event open to the community may also be a possibility.

Virtual events consist of a 45-minute visit featuring a personal chat with the group and a Q&A. In these sessions, Pablo aims to have the kids learn a bit about him, but also to ask them questions about themselves.
